PREPaRE- School Safety and Crisis Preparedness Training Workshop 1: Comprehensive School Safety Planning – Prevention Through Recovery This 1-day workshop equips participants with the knowledge to build and maintain comprehensive school safety plans addressing both physical and psychological safety. Key topics include developing and evaluating emergency operations plans (EOPs), forming effective crisis teams, and conducting vulnerability assessments. The session emphasizes collaboration between school staff and community partners in crisis preparedness and response. Additional focus areas include communication strategies, reunification, media/social media, students with special needs, school culture, and memorials. Attendees will leave better prepared to enhance school climate, student resilience, and emergency response. Contact Hours: 7 hours - NASP approved
Workshop 2: Mental Health Crisis Interventions – Responding to Acute Traumatic Stressors in Schools This 2-day workshop prepares participants to deliver immediate mental health crisis interventions following an acute traumatic event affecting the school community. It focuses on practical skills for supporting students, staff, and others exposed to trauma, while also laying the foundation for longer-term, trauma-informed care.
